Although a little over priced it was fun for a while. The curious thing rolls around untill it hits something and then moves away. The picture of it makes you wonder how it moves. What it really makes it move is a small orb inside the outside casing that has a motor inside. This motor spins a small weight that causes it to move around. I bought this and found that the instructions weren’t very descriptive so it was a bit tricky but still easy to build. The weird part was that the motor was almost already completely built. The one part that was kind of disappointing was that the casing was hard to but on. Then I realized it looked better without it. It was cool to see a sphere rolling around like it was ALIVE. You may have some problems with it like sudden malfunction but for once this toy actually comes with a trouble shoot that is HELPFUL!!! If you like this and are looking for more or are looking for something that gives you a little more “bang for your buck” then I recommend the “Hex Bug” which although it comes assembled it does a little more….

My little boy loves robots and I bought this for him last year, he loved it! It has survived my son and is still working just fine! He even took it to school to show the other kids. This is the kind of toy that helps kids understand and love science and math. Excellent toy.

It’s less and more than you expect it to be. Easy to assemble (5 minutes) this kit uses inertia from an asymetrically loaded motor to move and change direction. Requires a hard flat surface with walls to operate. A kitchen floor works great. It is educational and is a good step along the way for youngsters interested in robots.

Grandma got this for one of my kids for Christmas…difficult to put together…my husband, the engineer, had a difficult time; there’s no way my 7 and a half year old could have done it. Provided lots of entertainment, though (although i couldn’t help thinking “I wish it was a Roomba instead, and actually vacuumming, too”…sorry, I’m a multitasker). Unfortunately, though, it is now broken (February). My husband once again, took it apart, found the plastic gears that make it go around are worn out, therefore, it doesn’t sense things it should be going around, and gets stuck. Also makes a bad noise now.
