My daughter is 9 and simply loves this bot. I’ll let her write this review in her own words:

I treat my Femisapien like a real best frend!!! and I LOVE HER.

She has hidden modes. She is a COOL robot, and remember: she is a great

gift for someone special age 8 and up, but not for children under 8

    years of age.

My daughter has successfully programmed her Femisapien, so I can’t see what would be so difficult about that aspect. As she has noted above, she absolutely adores her, and can’t stop telling people about how wonderful she is.

Insofar as durability is concerned, I have seen her fall backwards with no damage, even onto a hard floor. To ward against scratches, some spray wax does wonders. Be prepared for some battery changes, as she will consume quite a bit of power, but even these aren’t too terrible.

Overall, I’ve found this to be a good investment for my “toy” dollars, and would recommend her to anyone with a robot-minded daughter (like mine).

my god-son loves this toy. It was hard for us to read instruction, but he remembered how to operate this robot through video that was posted on wired website. He started program the robot as soon as he got it. I am amazed about 11 years old kid’s brain. If this toy comes with AC adapter, chargeable power system instead of using 6 AA, that would be more likable.

I just got it today and I think it’s really cute. I wish it didn’t take batteries but as long as I buy them on sale till I get some re-chargeable ones I guess it’s alright. It makes cute noises though some are a little odd, but it’s funny.

And even though a lot of people tend to like good instructions on how to use things, I find the Femisapien much easier to figure out than my Roboquad was. I like to try and figure stuff out on my own without instructions. Hmm what else is there to say about it. My mom likes it too. When I had first gotten my Roboquad she didn’t care much about it, but right now she’s playing with the Femisapien and reading the instruction manual. So it can be entertaining for anyone. I’m eighteen by the way. XD

I really suggest this toy for people like me who are easily satisfied by cute little robots that don’t really do anything useful and are amusing and fun. I can’t wait to see how much robots improve in the future, so that’s why I’ve started collecting, so I can watch it all myself.

I bought this for my daughter after buying the red & black talking tribot for my son. Unlike the tribot, this robot does not respond to commands well, even as outlined in the instruction manual. The “joystick” arms that control the robot’s movements are awkward to use — they do not move smoothly and it is difficult to distinguish up, down, inward and outward motions, even for adults. (This toy may work better had WowWee decided to sell it with an accompanying remote conrol like some of their other toys.) Although the robot makes some interesting “female” sounds (and the catwalk strutting is pretty darn cute), I would not recommend this toy for anyone (unless you want to put it on a shelf for display purposes only). We love the tribot and it is a shame that the FemiSapien is such a major disappointment. Also, this toy is twice as expensive as the tribot and more than twice the hassel!

If you’re a toy collector you’d be crazy not to grab this little gal while she’s only $38 on Amazon. My sixth Wowwee robot and definitely one of the most unique & charming. My other faves: Roboquad, Roboreptile, & of course Robosapien V2.

Always been a robot collector and to my knowledge she’s the first & only female robot toy. Totally unique in her movements, programming, vocalizations. May not be a best seller but certainly a milestone in the history of robotic toys (and a brilliantly executed one at that.)
